Nursultan Nazarbayev, Francois Hollande express readiness to continue cooperation to resolve the crisis in Ukraine

ASTANA - PARIS. KAZINFORM - President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev had a telephone conversation with President of France Francois Hollande, said the press service of Akorda.

During the conversation Presidents of Kazakhstan and France exchanged views on the situation in the south-east of Ukraine in the context of the implementation of a package of measures set in the Minsk Agreements. The two Presidents stressed that Minsk agreements has ended the bloodshed. The conversation stressed the importance of heavy equipment withdrawal from the conflict zone. Nursultan Nazarbayev asked about the conditions necessary for the gradual lifting of sanctions between Russia and the European Union. F. Hollande noted that in the case of a complete cease-fire, withdrawal of heavy equipment and de-escalation of the conflict in the area of Mariupol, the parties may debate about easing the sanctions. The two leaders expressed their willingness to continue cooperation with international partners to address the crisis in Ukraine. In addition, during the meeting, the sides discussed prospects of the Kazakh-French strategic partnership. Nursultan Nazarbayev thanked his French counterpart for the invitation to visit France this year. The conversation took place at the initiative of the French side.
