Nursultan Nazarbayev names new principles of social policy

"First and foremost, the state, especially amid global crisis, should guarantee its citizens the minimum social standards. Our immediate goal is to eradicate and prevent poverty. We should set the minimum social standards and guarantees that would directly depend upon the growth of economy and budget," the President said.
The Kazakh Leader defines education and healthcare (even for unemployed and disabled individuals), healthy nutrition and life style as the minimum social standards.
"These standards will set the volume of budget financing of social sphere on the whole. It will make budgetary processes even more transparent and raise effectiveness of targeted spending," Nursultan Nazarbayev noted.
President Nazarbayev commissioned the Government to work out a corresponding law.
