EVENTS
1993 – Kazakhstan and Mongolia sign Treaty on friendly relations and cooperation in Ulaanbaatar.
2003 – President of Kazakhstan decrees to establish the National Academy of Sciences. Academician Murat Zhurinov becomes its first president.
2004 – Book about Nazir Torekulov, Ambassador of the USSR to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is published in Riyadh. The book is published in Arabic, it includes diaries, letters and reports by Nazir Torekulov. From 1928-1932, Nazir Torekulov was a diplomatic agent and Consul General of the USSR to Saudi Arabia. From 1932 to 1936 he was Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Soviet Union to this country.
2010 – JSC KazPost becomes a member of PostEurop, the association of European public postal operators.
2014 – Astana enters the List of World’s 21 Intellectual Cities compiled by the Intelligent Community Forum.
2018 – Team Kazakhstan wins NASA Space Apps Challenge in the U.S. The team’s project for analyzing data from volcanoes and asteroids wins in The best use of hardware nomination.
2019 – Dombyra short-length film by Ramazan Khaliolla named the Best Film at the 8th Delhi Shorts International Film Festival.
2021 – Kazakhstan participates in the Media Forum of the Turkic Council on “Fundamental Past, Strong Future” which discusses the opportunities for cooperation development in film making industry and mass media, as well as joint fight with disinformation including in social media.
