1964 – The Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kazakhstan and the Council of Ministers adopt a resolution on opening a medical institute in Tselinograd. In 1997, it is transformed into an academy. On January 6, 2009, Kazakh Medical Academy is transformed into the JSC Medical University of Astana and becomes a part of JSC National Medical Holding.

2000 – Kazakhstan-Belgium Business Council is set up during the official visit of the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev to the Kingdom of Belgium.

2011 – An exposition of works of modern artists organized by the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Malaysia opens in Kuala-Lumpur. More than 100 pictures provided by Almaty-based Oner Art Gallery featuring the history and culture, traditions and values of the Kazakh people, as well as spirit of the steppe, are showcased here.

2015 – The Italian Archive provides Kazakhstan with an electronic version of the Codex Cumanicus (Dictionary of Kipchak Languages), written in the period of Desht-i-Kipchak.

2015 – Kazakhstan’s Professional Football League joins the European Professional Football Leagues.

2017 – Film “Oralman” (ethnic Kazakhs who have re-immigrated to Kazakhstan) by director Sabit Kurmanbekov is named the best feature film at the XX Religion Today international film festival in Italy. The film is about a Kazakh family which returned to the historical motherland from Afghanistan.

2018 – Tarbagatai national park is opened in Urdzhar district of the East Kazakhstan region. The area of the park is 143,550.5 hectares, protected area is 204,602 hectares.

2019 – Kazakhstani Raushan Meshitkhanova wins a gold at the 49th edition of the Challenge 210 weightlifting competition in Tramelan, Switzerland, in women’s 81kg after lifting 205kg (95+110).

2022 – Turkistan hosts the conference titled The People Protecting Monuments. Held under the auspices of the UNESCO, the event brings together 60 international experts from 20 countries of the world. The conference discusses the issues of management, preservation and restoration of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, tourism marketing and the role of personality and works of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi for the Turkic-speaking peoples.
