NAMES

1995 – Under the chairmanship of first deputy Prime minister of Kazakhstan Nigmatzhan Issingarin the opening meeting of the State Commission for relocation of high and central state bodes to Akmola takes place.

1995 – The Atyrau oil refinery is awarded The Golden Globe international prize (Denmark) for its products.

2005 - Kazakhstan establishes the Space Council under the Kazakh Government.

2011- Well-known Kazakh writer Akim Tarazi, young talented writer Askar Altau, playwright, winner of the prize of the Youth Union of Kazakhstan Rosa Mukanova are awarded the Franz Kafka Prize, an international literary award, and special diplomas for contribution and development of world literature.

2015 - Kazakhstan's national pavilion ranks among top 3 at the EXPO Milano 2015. The theme of the national pavilion located in a two-storey building with the total area of 3,000 square meters was Kazakhstan is the Country of Opportunities.

2019 – For the first time, Kazakhstan becomes the chair of the Intergovernmental Working Group of Experts on International Standards of Accounting and Reporting (ISAR), announced at the ISAR’s 36th session in Geneva.

2020 - Nur-Sultan plays host to an opening ceremony of the ÁMEN Animation film festival, aiming at promoting the development of Kazakhstani animation and supporting young talents.

2021 – Swimmer Adilbek Mussin breaks three records of Kazakhstan at the World Cup in Kazan (Tatarstan) - two in the 200m butterfly and one in the 50m butterfly.

2022 – Kazakhstan’s feature film Mukagali directed by Bulat Kalymbetov received the main prize at the META Film Fest in Dubai. The film is dedicated to famous Kazakh poet Mukagali Makatayev, telling about the last years of his life.
