This region is a gigantic economic community. Kazakhstan also has a quite important role to play in this space, at least in regional terms. As I already said in my speech, we attach great attention to the cooperation with the OECD. Our representatives regularly attend meetings of the OECD committees. We seek to follow the Organization’s recommendations. As you know, I set the goal to bring the economic policy of Kazakhstan in line with the high standards of the OECD, said Tokayev.

For his part, Cormann confirmed the commitment of the Organization to the all-round interaction with Asian countries, including Kazakhstan.

I believe that relations between Kazakhstan and the OECD are formed very well. There is a huge potential for their expansion and enhancement in the future. I’m glad to hear that Kazakhstan seeks to bring its economic policy in line with the high standards and advanced experience of the OECD. We stand ready to take every effort to support your program of reforms. We’re interested in increasing the level of global cooperation to address many issues we face today, said the OECD chief.
