Official ceremony of meeting Iranian President in Ak Orda

ASTANA. April 6. KAZINFORM /Aigul Tulekbayeva/ Today in Akorda Palace President Nursultan Nazarbayev has met his Iranian counterpart Mahmoud Ahmadinejad who arrived in Astana with an official visit today, Kazinform reports.

The Leaders of the two countries will hold negotiations in private and extended formats. The issues of the development of cooperation in political, trade and economic spheres will be discussed. The Presidents are also expected to discuss the status of the Caspian Sea and exchange views on regional and international problems including the situation on the Middle East and economic rehabilitation of Afghanistan. According to the data of the Kazakhstan MFA, the volume of bilateral commodity turnover between the two countries made USD 2, 098 bln in 2008. Kazakhstan exports oil industry products, grain, metal and metal products to Iran and imports dried fruit, petrochemical and food products and construction materials.
