Official closing ceremony of "Baku-Capital of Islamic Culture-2009" held
Head of the Presidential Administration Ramiz Mehdiyev, Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, deputies and representatives of diplomatic corps attended the event.
Delivering a keynote speech at the ceremony, Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfas Garayev noted that nearly 500 different cultural events had been held within the framework of the culture year.
"I think the most important event was the International Mugham Festival. This event became possible as a result of increasing reputation of Azerbaijan on a world scale thanks to President Ilham Aliyev and President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva's strong relations with ISESCO.
