Official reception to mark Kazakhstan's Independence Day held in Beijing

BEIJING. December 15. KAZINFORM /Ruslan Suleimenov/ Official reception to mark the 19th anniversary of the Independence of Kazakhstan has been organized by the Kazakh Embassy in Beijing; the Embassy's press service informs.

Over 450 people including representatives of foreign diplomatic missions, ministries and departments, analytical and academic structures, business circles and leading media of China, Kazakh Diaspora in China as well as Kazakh students attended the reception.

Making a welcome speech Ambassador Ikram Adyrbekov said that being a relatively young member of the international community, Kazakhstan has managed to demonstrate its commitment to active participation in the processes that contribute to global peace and prosperity.

He also noted that Kazakhstan attached much importance to building good-neighborly, mutually beneficial and progressive relations of strategic partnership with the People's Republic of China.

The diplomat informed that in January 2011 Kazakhstan, which takes up the Asian sports torch from China, will open the VII Asian Winter Games. He invited all attendees to visit the event.

A photo exhibition on the forthcoming Games was held during the official reception.

An annual compilation of the major 2010 speeches of Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev in the Chinese language was presented to the guests.
