Oil production at Kashagan stopped
ATYRAU. September 26. KAZINFORM - Oil production at Kashagan field in Atyrau region has been stopped at least for 3-4 days.

As Kazinform informed earlier the incident occurred in oil & gas treating unit "Bolashak" on September 24. About 3 kilometers from the plant a gas leakage occurred. The operation of all production facilities of the refinery has been stopped. Oil output on all wells located on artificial islands in the Caspian Sea was also stopped.
The Kashagan field is the largest oil field in the North Caspian Sea with geological reserves which are about 35 billion barrels. First oil production from Kashagan began on September 11 when the first well was reactivated on island A.
