ASTANA. June 30. KAZINFORM - President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, who was taking part with British Prime Minister David Cameron in the opening ceremony of "Bolashak" plant in Atyrau region, and speaking of the importance of field development for thecountry's economy, special attention paid to environmental component of the project.

"We must not forget that the Caspian Sea is a special natural area, with a unique variety of flora and fauna. Respect to its fragile ecosystem is inescapable duty of every subsoil user. Over the past years have been carried out a lot of programs in the field of environmental protection, but more must be done ", stated the President.

Nursultan Nazarbayev reminded that on the agenca today are issues of inventing clean technologies and alternative energy sources.

"We have recently approved the concept for transition of Kazakhstan to " green economy. " It is aimed at optimizing the use of natural resources in all spheres of life. The members of the North Caspian Consortium are expected to continue active conservation activities. It is necessary to minimize the negative impact on the environment and to prevent the oil spill ", that is the task set before the consortium implementing the North-Caspian project by the Head of State.
