"Oldest woman in the world" to turn 130
BEIJING. March 25. KAZINFORM A recent census has found a 130-year-old woman, 16 years older than the oldest known human currently living, according to media reports Wednesday.
However, officials are now trying to confirm the remarkable record.
Sakhan Dosova's passport states that she was born on March 27, 1879 -- the year Edison invented the light bulb, Stalin and Einstein were born and the Anglo-Zulu war started.
The mother of ten attributes her longevity to staying away from sweets, and the doctor. However, she is a fan of cheese and yoghurt, and says her sense of humor has kept her young at heart.
"I don't have any special secret," she said. "I've never taken pills and if I was ill, I used granny's remedies to cure me.
"I have never eaten sweets, I don't like them. But I love kurt (a salty dried cottage cheese) and talkan (ground wheat)."
Twice-married, she is believed to have been widowed at the Battle of Stalingrad during World War II.
Only three of her children are alive, Kazinform cites Xinhua.
