Olympic champion Smetov donates judogi with his autograph to Olympic Museum in Lausanne
2024 Paris Olympics champion Yeldos Smetov took part in the International Olympic Committee’s project World of Olympians, Kazinform News Agency cites the press service of the National Olympic Committee.
In the project, the Kazakhstani judoka spoke about his exceptional career and a long path from a silver medal at Rio 2016 and a bronze medal at Tokyo 2020 to a long-awaited gold medal at Paris 2024.
The legendary athlete also donated his favorite judogi with an autograph to the Olympic Museum in Lausanne.
To note, Yeldos Smetov brought Kazakhstan its first gold medal at the ongoing Olympic Games in Paris as well as the first Olympic gold medal in judo in the history of Kazakhstan.
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Kazakh National Olympic Committee Gennady Golovkin congratulated Smetov on his impressive win at the 2024 Olympic Games. An entrepreneur from Aktobe Anuar Makhanov invited Smetov as a guest to present the Olympic champion 100 horses as a gift.
