Olympic fans buy out almost 1 mln tickets to attend Sochi events
SAINT-PETERSBURG. KAZINFORM - The sales of tickets for the XXII Olympic Winter Games of 2014 in Sochi are soaring. So far the organizers have sold 924 802 tickets.

It is worth mentioning that tickets are quite affordable - the cheapest one costs RUB 500 (almost USD 15). The priciest A-category ticket for the Opening Ceremony amounted to RUB 50 000 (USD 1470).
Much to the Olympic fans' delight, the ticket sales started on February 7, 2014 worldwide. Tickets.sochi2014.com website gets more than 350 000 visits from the Internet users per day. The largest number of tickets were purchased by Sochi (27%), Moscow (16%) and Krasnodar (7%) residents.
30% of tickets were sold to foreign Olympic fans mostly from Japan, Germany, Canada and the U.S.
