Ombudsman met with Ambassador of Italy

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Today in Astana the Human Rights Commissioner Askar Shakirov has held meeting with the Ambassador of Italy to Kazakhstan Stefano Ravagnan, the press office of the Ombudsman for Human Rights in the Republic of Kazakhstan informs.

During the meeting the sides exchanged views on a wide range of issues of human rights in Kazakhstan, implementation of international standards in this area, as well as cooperation between state authorities and civil society. Mr. Shakirov informed the guest about the main directions and specifics of the national human rights institution, its role and place in the state and legal system of the country. Stefano Ravagnan praised the work of the institution and noted the importance of the information provided by Mr.Shakirov. Following the roundtable the parties expressed their intention to strengthen the fruitful cooperation within the framework of human rights projects.
