«On Friendship, Coop & Mutual Assistance between Kazakhstan and Russia» Treaty extended to 10 yrs

ASTANA. September 12. KAZINFORM - Kazakhstan and Russia following the meeting of the foreign ministers of the two countries in Astana have signed a protocol on the exchange of instruments of ratification of the Protocol amending the Treaty called "On Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation" dated May 20, 1992.

The signing ceremony held in the MFA was attended by Erlan Idrissov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Sergei Lavrov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry talked about other aspects of cooperation between Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation. "During the round table we focused on practical aspects of collaboration in the framework of the Customs Union and Common Economic Space of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, Eurasian Economic Community and the CIS. Particular attention was paid to the work that is being carried out on behalf of the leaders of the states on preparation of the Agreement "On the establishment of the Eurasian Economic Union'", he added.
