One killed, 2 injured as lightening strikes stadium in Khabarovsk

KHABAROVSK. August 13. KAZINFORM A lightening struck on Thursday at a stadium in Russia's Far Eastern city of Khabarovsk, where a youth football team was training at the moment; Kazinform cites Itar-Tass.

A 16-year-old football player was killed and two people were hospitalised, regional emergencies minister' s aide Konstantin Yaniyev told Tass on Thursday.

The accident at Energiya Stadium occurred about noon local time. Yaniyev said the training began before a thunderstorm, and nothing foreboded the tragedy; Kazinform refers to Itar-tass.
