One more Comfortable School opens doors in Astana
The akim (mayor) of Astana, Zhenis Kassymbek, announced the opening of another school as part of The Comfortable Schools Project, Kazinform News Agency reports.
“We have opened another comfortable school. This is the eighteenth new school we have opened since the beginning of the new academic year," wrote Kassymbek on Instagram.
The new school is located in the Urker residential area. The educational institution is designed for 4,000 students studying in two shifts. In this residential area, children currently study at school-lyceum No. 69 in three shifts. Thus, the new school will solve the issue of overcrowding. Children will start studying there from March.
As part of the national project of the Head of State "Comfortable School," 11 new schools have already been built and unveiled in the Kazakh capital. In total, 24 schools of new format will be built within this national project in 2024-2025. These educational institutions will create about 90,000 student places.
“By the end of this year, we plan to open several more schools. We are also preparing for the coming years. For example, in 2025, we plan to build and commission more than 20 schools," said the akim.
