Orphanage catches fire in Kyrgyzstan, all children evacuated

BISHKEK. March 2. KAZINFORM A fire has broken out at an orphanage in the Chuisk region of Kyrgyzstan on Monday.

The fire sparked up in the small hours on Monday at the classrooms of the orphanage ?Children?s Village Bishkek Youth House-2?, which is situated at the Bishkek neighbouring village of Nizhnyaya Ala-Archa and is an affiliate of the international charity ?SOS-Kinderdorf International?. According to the Kyrgyz Emergencies Ministry, 16 inmates were staying at the orphanage at the moment the fire sparked up. All of them were evacuated; and the firemen put down the fire. About 80 square meters burnt down in the building. ?No children and adults were injured in the fire. A specially formed committee is investigating the reasons for the fire and the sustained damages,? the ministry said; Kazinform cites Itar-Tass.
