OSCE Centre facilitates workshop in Kazakhstan on countering corruption
Co-organized by the Financial Police Agency, the OSCE Centre and the U.S. Embassy in Astana, the event aimed to present international best practices and help increase the capacity of Kazakhstan's leading anti-corruption structure in the fight against corruption.
More than 40 middle-level professional staff officers from the headquarters and the regional branches of the Financial Police Agency took part in the workshop conducted by experienced national and international trainers from Italy, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkey.
The experts presented measures for corruption prevention, interaction with non-governmental organizations, anti-corruption campaigning, detection and suppression of corruption offenses, methods of detecting proceeds from illegal activities as well as methodologies for preparing social surveys and questionnaires. Participants discussed case studies and solutions for preventing negative effects from corruption and other economic-related crimes.
The event is part of the Centre's priorities and activities in the sector of good governance and anti-corruption, and is tailored to assist the current preparation of Kazakhstan's national anti-corruption plan for 2015-2020, the OSCE Centre Astana said.
