OSCE Centre in Astana supports seminar on local self-governance
The training-seminar will be held for local akims on legal and financial mechanisms of local self-governance as well as on the involvement of local citizens in the decision-making process. A handbook on the main provisions of the local self-governance legislation which was prepared by the OSCE-supported national experts will be distributed among the participants of the training-seminar.
The training-seminar is the first in a series of five events planned this year. The other four training-seminars will be organized in the Mangystau, East Kazakhstan, North Kazakhstan and Akmola regions and will result in elaboration of a set of recommendations for further improvement of local self-governance legislation. The events fall in the scope of the Centre's activities aiming at promotion of good governance and democratization in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Centre's press service said.
