OSCE Civil Society Forum kicks off in Astana
ASTANA. November 28. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmanov/ Two-day Civil Society Forum of the OSCE takes place in Astana.
Over 120 representatives of non-governmental organizations from the OSCE member states take part in the conference.
World Alliance for Citizen Participation Sonia Zilberman noted in her welcome speech that the issues for discussion at the Forum were of special importance.
The participants of the conference will address the issues of strengthening the mechanisms and activities of the OSCE, interaction with the civil society, observation of an election, contacts with field missions and the human rights amid struggle against terrorism.
Upon the completion of the conference the representatives of the civil society plan to adopt a final document that will be presented at the OSCE Summit as an independent position of the civil society.
