OSCE may help settle situation in Mideast, North Africa – Lavrov
"The developments of the 'Arab spring' and the difficult progress of the Afghan settlement call for greater attention to the relations between OSCE and its partners by cooperation," Lavrov stressed.
"We would like the nations of Afghanistan, Middle East and North African countries to outline ways of their development on their own. OSCE could make a contribution, within the limits of its potentialities, to the international support for those processes, with the United Nations Organization playing the key role, proceeding from the resources it has and in response to the appeals of the partner countries themselves," he continued.
According to Lavrov, "the world community does not always respond adequately to the rapidly developing processes"; Kazinform cites Itar-Tass.
