OSCE PA delegation arrives in Astana

ASTANA. November 29. KAZINFORM A delegation of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly headed by Chairman of the Assembly Petros Efthimiou arrived in Astana on Monday for participation in the session of the OSCE PA Bureau and work of the OSCE Summit, the press service of the Senate of the Kazakh Parliament reported.

A meeting of P. Efthimiou with Chairman of the Kazakh Senate, Vice President of the OSCE PA Kassym-Jomart Tokayev is planned within the visit. The agenda of the Bureau's sitting and issues of the further interparliamentarian cooperation between the OSCE member states are planned to be discussed at the meeting.

The sitting of the OSCE PA Bureau scheduled for November 30 is expected to be an important event for the parliamentary community defining the priorities of the Assembly within the promotion of new development model of the OSCE.

The delegation including representatives of over 20 member states of the Organization will discuss the results of the Assembly's activity of this year, including participation of the OSCE parliamentarians in election monitoring missions in the OSCE space and consider a work plan for the nearest future. The situation in Kyrgyzstan will be a separate agenda item.
