OSCE rep reported on mass media freedom at NGO forum in Astana

ASTANA. November 26. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ OSCE Media Freedom Representative Dunja Mijatovic informed the NGO forum participants taking place in Astana within the OSCE Review Conference on the results of researches held in her office this year.

The report includes recommendations to the governments on the issues of regulation of the internet space. D.Mijatovic has noted that it is necessary to fight the spread of child pornography on the Internet. She reminded that all OSCE member states took the responsibility for provision of safety of journalists and called to continue the work on this direction. According to her, significant progress has been achieved in this field since 1970 and this progress should be further promoted.
