OSCE reports no major violations during local elections in Ukraine
At the same time, the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) had not set itself the task of giving a comprehensive assessment of the elections in the country and therefore did not exercise full-scale monitoring, and is not preparing official statements, Marat Sarsembayev, an official representative of the OSCE chairman-in-office, said ay a press conference on Monday, November 1.
"There was no large-scale monitoring this time, as the OSCE usually does," he said.
"On the whole, elections took place, and I have not heard any complaints form candidates, observers of members of the commission," Sarsambayev said, sharing his personal impressions from visiting eight polling stations in the Kiev region.
"I did not see any factors that could have worked in favour of the ruling party [Party of Regions]," he said.
OSCE observers only made some minor comments with respect to the voting process.
