OSCE Summit in Astana should be successful

ASTANA. November 2. KAZINFORM On the initiative of the American side OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Kazakh Secretary of State-Minister of Foreign Affairs Kanat Saudabayev has held a telephone conversation with United States Deputy Secretary of State James B. Steinberg.

The parties discussed the state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, regional situation and preparation for the OSCE Summit in Astana on December 1-2.

K.Saudabayev and J.Steinberg noted progressive character of development of the strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and the USA, new impetus to which was given by the negotiations between presidents Nursultan Nazarbayev and Barack Obama in Washington in April, 2010. The sides emphasized successful implementation of all agreements reached by the heads of state in Washington.

Touching upon the regional problem, the American diplomat praised Kazakhstan's efforts on assistance to Kyrgyzstan's stabilization, expressing gratitude to Astana for leadership demonstrated as the OSCE chairman. In the connection with announcement of official election results in Kyrgyzstan, the sides noted importance of early formation of a parliament and government of this country as well as a full-scale deployment of the OSCE police consultative group.

Discussing preparation for the OSCE Summit, K.Saudabayev and J.Steinberg emphasized mutual interest in its successful holding, which will be defined by adoption of final documents at top meetings.
