OSCE Summit in Astana to be a very important event - Political Attaché of French Embassy in Kazakhstan

SHYMKENT. November 22. KAZINFORM /Tatyana Pylayeva/ International scientific practical conference entitled "Cooperation of Kazakhstan with OSCE: achievements and prospects of development" with participation of Political Attaché of the Embassy of France in Kazakhstan Marie Douet is being held in Shymkent.

"The OSCE Summit in Astana will be a very important event both for the Organization itself and for Kazakhstan. The fact that the majority of states confirmed their participation in the summit proves that they intend to give a new impulse to the Organization. A new document in the field of security and regarding the situation in Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan is planned to be signed. This is a significant aspect for us. France pays special attention to the Kazakhstan's chairmanship in the OSCE, because it has been the first post-soviet state to preside in this Organization. Though the process has not been finished yet we can see that this is a successful chairmanship. A lot of activities have been held. We have great expectations from the summit", Mrs. Douet said.

She also noted good strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and France and remembered the recent visit of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev to France.
