OSCE Summit in Astana to give impetus to Organization to focus on Eurasian component: A.Keltchewsky
ATY. November 10. KAZINFORM /Ekaterina Ionova/ "I wish the OSCE Summit in Astana were productive and useful to the maximum, in this regard, it demands a pragmatic approach. I believe it will give an impetus to the Organization to focus on the Eurasian component as long as the real security in Europe cannot be considered without the Central Asian region", Head of the SOCE Center in Astana Alexandre Keltchewsky has said at the workshop on Kazakhstan's OSCE chairmanship held in Almaty today.
According to him, the Astana Summit won't be the final stage of work but, on the contrary, will open a new page and make decisions to be discussed in the future.
As the Head of the Center said, there were no any significant changes in the situation on security and cooperation in Europe last years that would force to update the main documents of the OSCE, in particular, the Paris Charter. "They remain in force, but the issue of their implementation should be reconsidered", A.Keltchewsky said.
