Our cultural cooperation with XUAR is a recipe for unity - Almaty Mayor

ALMATY. December 22. KAZINFORM Almaty Akim Akhmetzhan Yessimov has met with Chairman of the National Political Consultative Council of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Askhat Kerimbay on Thursday in Almaty.

Kerimbay thanked Yessimov for the efforts on cooperation development.

The cultural delegation from Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region arrived in Almaty for the third time. They conducted a concert and a photo exhibition.

"Our regions are located on the slopes of one mountain, and our cultural cooperation is a recipe for unity of the peoples. Our ancestors perfectly preserved our ancient culture," Yessimov emphasized.

It was noted that for the period of January - October 2011 the volume of trade turnover between Almaty and China amounted to USD 2.8 billion.
