Our historical mission is to revive Silk Road - S.Tereshenko

XI'AN. November 18. KAZINFORM /Ruslan Suleimenov/ "Our historical mission is to revive the Silk Road", member of the Kazakh delegation, Chairman of the Board of the Integration International Fund Sergey Tereshenko said at Eurasian Economic Forum-2009 in Xi'an (Shaanxi Province, PRC).

According to Secretary General of the Eurasian Economic Forum Zhang Deguang, the Forum is an important mechanism of regional cooperation between central and western provinces of China, Central Asian states and Russia. "The Forum gave new impulse to restoration of the Great Silk Road and blossoming the Eurasian economy, opened new epoch in the history of regional cooperation of Eurasia", Z.Deguang noted.

In the course of the work of the constituent assembly and the first conference of the organizing committee of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Forum-2009 S.Tereshenko was elected Chairman of the preparatory committee of the Council.

As S.Tereshenko emphasized, creation of the preparatory committee demonstrates beginning of construction of the long-term and effective mechanism of regional cooperation. "I hope that the Eurasian Economic Forum will live for long, and our historical mission is to revive the Silk Road for well-being and prosperity of the people living on the Silk Road", S.Tereshenko noted.
