Ovechkin says he's sorry for poor Sochi performance
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Forward of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League and Russia's national team Alexander Ovechkin apologized for poor performance at Sochi Olympics, Kazinform has learnt from Sport Express.
"I would like to say sorry to the fans," the hockey superstar said to ESPN. "Because it's an opportunity of a lifetime to represent your country in the Olympics, and we didn't get the results, we didn't get any medal.»
The overwhelming favorite to win the gold on home ice, Russia's national team was sensationally beaten by Finland in the quarterfinal 1:3 and left the Olympics empty-handed.
