Over 1 million dollars stolen during audacious robbery at Moscow's Vnukovo airport

MOSCOW. March 20. KAZINFORM An audacious robbery of a passenger awaiting a departure at the VIP lounge of Moscow?s Vnukovo airport has left him without a pretty sum of 45 million rubles /USD 1=RUB 34.4/, a well informed source at Moscow City?s Department of the Interior told Itar-Tass.

?According to the robbers? victim, the bag they took away from him contained 45 million rubles in cash,? the source said. Nothing is reported about the victim?s personality but Interior officials have confirmed that he is a Russian citizen. The robbery was committed at around 15:00 hours Thursday when two men armed with a submachine-gun attacked the man not far from the VIP lounge. Officials at Vnukovo airport said in the meantime that the incident has not affected normal work of the VIP lounge, Kazinform quotes ITAR-TASS. ?We continue meeting and seeing off the arriving and departing delegations,? a spokesman for the airport said.
