Over 100 houses flooded in Karaganda region
"Several localities are flooded in Karaganda region. Presently, the work on melt water disposal is being held," the statement reads.
According to the information provided by the department, Agabyr village was seriously flooded because of two-day rain, water discharge system was flooded as well as the roads of the locality. 101 houses were also flooded. "Currently, we work to repair the Agadyr-Ospen road is being held. The special teams are now working on restoring the situation in the village," the statement reads.
Besides, three five-storey apartment-buildings were flooded in Karazhal town.
Moreover, it was informed that there was a possibility of flooding of 33 apartment buildings in Atasu station in Zhanaarka district. "41 people were evacuated from the flooded areas. The work on discharge of melt water is being held on site," the press service of the emergency department reports.
There is a risk of flooding of Matak, Burkytty, Karakol villages. The preventive works are currently being held on there.
