Over 100 villages lose power in N Kazakhstan rgn

 125 villages were affected by power outages in North Kazakhstan region due to bad weather battering the region on November 18, Kazinform Agency correspondent reports. 

According to Saken Agzamov, head of the emergency situations prevention department, said earlier 217 villages lost power due to high wind and sleet last Saturday in North Kazakhstan region.

As of this morning, 150 villages in 10 districts or over 21 thousand users were without electricity. Repairs are carried out by the distribution grid company, he said.

Agzamov went on to add that nine republican road sections were closed in the region. Roads of regional and district significance were closed. There had been one off-road accident. Over 60 people trapped in heavy snow were placed in the heating sites deployed.
