Over 10,000 new jobs generated in Karaganda region, governor
The region’s economy is developing steadily. The manufacturing industry grew by 10.3% over the past eight months. There are more than 1,000 enterprises with over 500,000 employees. above 10,000 new jobs were created thanks to the development of entrepreneurship, and modernization of existing productions, Kazinform News Agency quotes governor of Karaganda region Yermaganbet Bulekpayev as saying.
Since the beginning of the year 552.2 billion tenge was channeled in the region's economy, which is 17.8% more compared to the last year. The governor said that 10 more investment projects worth 225.2 billion tenge will be launched by the yearend, and more than 3,000 new workplaces will be generated, addressing the XVIII session of the regional maslikhat. Over 10,000 jobs were created generally thanks to private initiatives and industrial, agricultural, and educational projects.
He noted that practically every second resident capable of working is engaged in small and medium-sized businesses. The number of SMEs surpassed 101,000.
The governor said 14 heating main construction and reconstruction projects are being developed in the region to reduce the deterioration of networks from 66.4% to 64.4%, and drinking water projects are being implemented in 46 villages.
In the healthcare sphere, the region commissioned 14 facilities under the rural healthcare modernization program. 27 more will be put into service by the yearend, another 51 will be built next year.
Following the meeting, the deputies sportively assessed the region’s socioeconomic development and approved the governor’s report.
