Over 14,500 foreigners work in Kazakhstan

As of October 1, 2023, some 14,530 foreign nationals have work permits by local executive bodies allowing them to hold a job in Kazakhstan, Kazinform Agency cites the Kazakh Labor and Special Protection Ministry’s press service.

Currently, there are 1,529 employers attracting foreign labor. Over 471,700 nationals of Kazakhstan that is 96.6% of total employees work for them.

The highest number of foreign employees is engaged in the construction sector with 4,887 people, 1,637 in agriculture, forestry, and fishery, 1,360 in the mining industry, 1,219 in the processing sector, and 896 in professional, scientific, and technical services.

Most of the labor migrants arrived from China, 1,714 from Uzbekistan, 1,326 from India, and 1,288 from Turkiye.
