Over 2,000 questions within President's hotline concerned culture

KAZINFORM. /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Over 2,000 questions received by the call center of the hotline with the President of Kazakhstan held on November 13 touched upon the cultural and information branch. Kazakh Minister of Culture and Information Mukhtar Kul-Mukhammed has made it public at the sitting of the collegium of the Ministry in the President's Cultural Center today.

The Minister noted that over 40,000 questions were registered in whole. For 2 hours and 50 minutes the Head of the State answered more than 50 questions.

"The President urged the ministries, departments, national companies to answer all questions through the mass media and address all problems raised by the Kazakhstanis", he said.

M. Kul-Mukhammed emphasized that one of the most disturbing questions was the size of salary for workers of culture. In accordance with the President's Address to the Nation the salary of all public sector workers was increased by 25 per cent from the beginning of the year. Presently the Ministry together with the interdepartmental commission holds activities on increase of salary for cultural workers.  From July 1, 2010 the salary will be raised by 25 per cent and in 2011- by 30 per cent.
