Over 20 thou vehicles produced in Kazakhstan in 2 mths of this year
According to the Kazakhstan Automobile Union, in January-February 2024, domestic enterprises produced 22,726 vehicles worth over 294.8 billion tenge. This year’s production indicators are 16.4% higher than in January-February 2023, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports.
Kazakhstan produces passenger cars more than any other vehicle (20,899 units, +19.2% by January-February 2023). Also, domestic enterprises managed to increase bus production by 76.5% to 464 units. However, there is a decline in truck production to 1,108 units (-29.1%).
Based on the results of two months of 2024, 12,738 units of equipment were produced in Kostanay (Allur) (+19.9%). In Almaty (Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan, Hyundai Trans Almaty) 7,656 (+1.7%) passenger and commercial vehicles were produced. In Semey (SemAZ, Daewoo Bus Kazakhstan) – 907 units of commercial vehicles (+49.4%). In Karaganda region (QazTehna) – 242 buses (+30.8%). Kokshetau (KAMAZ-Engineering) produced 167 units of commercial vehicles. In Uralsk, Uralskagroremmash produced 23 units of equipment.
The top five most popular manufactured brands for January-February 2024 (including exports): Hyundai (7,612 units, +1.8%), Kia (4,077; +6.9%), Chevrolet (3,524; -14, 1%), Jac (2,755; +11.1%) and Jetour (2,293). By model, the most produced cars were Hyundai Tucson (4,495), Chevrolet Cobalt (2,857), Jetour X70 (1,966), Kia Sportage (1,681) and Jac J7 (1,244).
