Over 30% of children in Kyrgyzstan do hard labor
BISHKEK. May 14. KAZINFORM More than a third of children in Kyrgyzstan are forced to do jobs that are unacceptable for their age, according to a study released on Thursday, Kazinform refers to RIA Novosti.

The study, conducted by the Kyrgyz National Statistics Committee in conjunction with the presidential administration, found that 96% of the 600,000 working children aged between 5 and 17 work either in agriculture or in a family business.
Children account for 21.9% of the workforce in Kyrgyzstan, which has a population of 5 million. There are 1.46 million children aged between 5 and 17 in the former Soviet republic, Kazinform cites RIA Novosti.
