The vaccination is carried out in the medical rooms of schools with the use of Gardasil Human Papillomavirus Quadrivalent Vaccine produced by the U.S. The vaccine protects from HPV types 6, 11, 16 and 18.

“The vaccine does not contain live viruses and do not cause infection contamination and does not affect girls’ reproductive function. The World Health Organization recommends to immunize girls aged from 9 to 14, before the initiation of sexual activity,” Sanitary-Epidemiological Control Department says.

It should be reminded that mass immunization of the girls against HPV started in Kazakhstan in September 2024. Girls under 11 are subject to planned immunization, while girls aged 12-13 undergo catch-up immunization.
