Over 50 schools connected to Starlink Internet in Zhambyl region

According to Vice Minister of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry, Askar Zhambakin, a total of 53 schools in Zhambyl region have been connected to the Starlink satellite Internet, Kazinform News Agency reports.

One of the key concerns for residents of the Zhambyl region is the provision of reliable communication and access to the Internet.
As of the present date, there are 372 settlements in the Zhambyl region. Of these, 199 have been connected to a fixed Internet infrastructure via fiber-optic communication line (FOCL). Furthermore, 53 educational institutions in the Zhambyl region have been linked to the Starlink satellite system.
The ministry, in collaboration with the Zhambyl region akimat and cellular operators, has developed and signed a roadmap for the provision of quality Internet and communication access in settlements of the region.
As part of the Roadmap, the Tele2 operator plans to provide broadband subscriptions to 68 rural settlements in the region. Additionally, Kcell JSC plans to modernize base stations in 51 rural settlements of the area. Furthermore, Beeline company plans to build new base stations in 61 settlements of the Zhambyl region.
In addition, the Ministry has spearheaded the deployment of IT hubs in 14 regions, with the support of akimats and private businesses. To date, the Zhambyl IT Hub is operational in the region.
