Over 50,000 Kazakhstani tourists visit Azerbaijan in 2023

121,467 tourists from Central Asian countries visited Azerbaijan in January-November 2023 which is 83.16% more compared to the same period in 2022 (66,316 people), Kazinform News Agency reports citing Trend.az.

As the state tourism agency of Azerbaijan informed, 53,249 Kazakhstani nationals visited Azerbaijan in nine months of 2023 (+90,74%). The number of tourists from Uzbekistan reached 35,222 (+ 49,74%), from Turkmenistan – 23,401 (2,46 times more), from Kyrgyzstan – 5,184 (+ 78,82%), and from Tajikistan – 4,411 people (+ 78,37%).

In general, 1,893,679 tourists visited Azerbaijan in the reporting period (+29.81%).

1,602,600 foreigners arrived in Azerbaijan four tourism purposes in 2022, which is twofold more than in 2021 (790,062), including 73,823 people from Central Asia, that is 4.75 times higher than in 2021 (15,516 people).

In 2017-2022, the number of tourists travelling to Azerbaijan from Central Asia made 411,141, including 167,052 from Kazakhstan, 119,201 from Turkmenistan, 96,278 from Uzbekistan, 15,467 from Kyrgyzstan and 13,143 from Tajikistan.
