According to him, the violations were detected in the sphere of misappropriation of the finances of orphaned children, deprivation them from their due benefits and maintenance payments. Besides, the violations were in the sphere of the housing rights. "The inspection detected that the authorized bodies did not regularly take measures to make sure the rights of the orphan children for housing are observed which leads to illegal use of their housing or even alienation," he noted. Moreover the General Prosecutor's Office informs that provision of housing for orphans after their graduation from orphan homes remains to be the most relevant issue at the moment. According to the information of the Ministry of Education and Science, over 14 thousand orphans are in need of their housing in Kazakhstan. "It should be noted that on the initiative of the General Prosecutor's Office, a number of normative acts and amendments were made in 2013 in order to provide additional rights and guarantees to orphans in the sphere of housing relations and strengthen the responsibility of official bodies and authorized agencies. As a result, orphaned children have the priority rights for receiving housing from the state housing fund," the statement reads.
