Besides, President Nazarbayev familiarized with the content concept of the central facility - the national pavilion of Kazakhstan. Afterwards, the Kazakh leader chaired a special meeting with NC Astana EXPO-2017 JSC leadership where utmost attention was paid to the construction progress. The Head of State noted it is currently progressing on schedule and should be completed by September 2016. Nursultan Nazarbayev stressed that major concern for the Government is to determine how the EXPO facilities can be used after the exhibition. "It is high time to determine how the EXPO complex will be used in the future. Perhaps, it will become a venue for international events, military or agro-industrial exhibitions. International banks and mass media have already expressed wish to open their offices at the complex. In general, the fate of all facilities should be determined by autumn 2017," President Nazarbayev said at the meeting. According to the Kazakh leader, the overriding goal of EXPO 2017 event is to demonstrate Kazakhstan's achievements and potential to international community. "Kazakhstan is known mainly for its mineral wealth. It is crucial to demonstrate a totally new country. The concept of the national pavilion showcases that Kazakhstan stays strong in the pursuit of its goals and always moves forward into the future," the Kazakh President said. Nursultan Nazarbayev went on to add that the project will solidify Astana's prestige. "The exhibition is a chance to present quite a new view of the Kazakh capital. The EXPO complex is fully suited to the requirements of the 21st century. For residents and guests, it presents a unique opportunity to look into the future, see scientific achievements and marvel at the beauty of the constructed facilities," the Head of State added. In conclusion, President Nazarbayev gave specific instructions regarding further implementation of the project.
