PACE sends observers to monitor presidential elections in Kazakhstan

ASTANA. March 11. KAZINFORM Kazakh Secretary of State - Minister of Foreign Affairs Kanat Saudabayev has talked to President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Mevlut Cavusoglu over the phone today; Kazinform has learnt from the Kazakh MFA's press service.

The parties discussed the issues of cooperation between Kazakhstan and PACE. Mevlut Cavusoglu considers the coming presidential elections in Kazakhstan an important step toward democracy. Thus PACE decided to send a delegation of observers to Kazakhstan.

K. Saudabayev noted the elections attracted attention of the international community; many organizations including OSCE/ODIHR, CIS Executive Council, CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, EurAsEC Interparlaimentary Assembly, CSTO, OIC, SCO and other send their observers to Kazakhstan.
