Paper products production opens in Bishkek
Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov took part in the opening ceremony of the enterprise IFA LLC for the production of sanitary-hygienic paper products in Bishkek, Kabar reports.
In his welcoming speech, the head of the Cabinet noted that over the past 5 years, the volume of imports of paper products to Kyrgyzstan has increased. Thus, for 9 months of this year, 3.9 thousand tons of paper products of sanitary-hygienic purpose for the amount of USD 3.4 million were imported into the country.
"With the opening of facilities to produce such environmentally friendly and compliant products, there is an opportunity to reduce import dependence on paper products," Akylbek Zhaparov said.
In conclusion, he emphasized that the implementation of this project will strengthen trade and economic relations with Russia, as 70% of raw materials - waste paper comes to Kyrgyzstan from Russia.
The opening of the plant took place within the framework of the agreement between the Kyrgyz-Russian Development Fund and IFA LLC for the amount of USD 3.2 million. The enterprise will produce 25 tons of products per day, 125 jobs have been created.
