Paris holds first session of Kazakh-French Business Council

BRUSSELS-PARIS. January 30. KAZINFORM /Yerzhan Ospanov/ The first session of the Kazakh-French Business Council was held in Paris. The Business Council includes 30 Kazakh and 30 French businessmen, which represent all main economic spheres and perspective directions of cooperation; Kazinform refers to the Kazakh Embassy in Paris.

The first session was held within implementation of ?Road to Europe? state program and became an important stage in progressive development of economic cooperation between the two countries, opening new prospects for creation of joint innovative productions and strengthening confidence of French investors in Kazakh economy. The participants carried out roundtables, discussions on the issues of trade-economic cooperation, established perspective contacts and agreed to continue interaction in such directions as finances, infrastructural development, energy, agriculture and etc. Kazakh Vice Minister of Economy and Budget Planning Galymzhan Pirmatov, French Secretary of State for Foreign Commerce Anne-Marie Idrac and co-Chairmen of the Business Council from the Kazakh and French sides delivered speeches. They lightened priority directions of the economic policies of the countries, potential of the Kazakh development institutes, investment opportunities and prospects of creation of joint business projects. Following the results of the session the participants confirmed directions of the Council?s activity. Kazakh Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to France Murat Tashibayev noted that the economic cooperation between the countries is characterized by steady tendency to a quality rise and unprecedented growth of contacts of the business circles. Within the event the Kazakh Embassy organized presentations of information materials, which reflect the current situation in Kazakhstan and measures of the Kazakh Government on overcoming consequences of the global financial crisis, stabilization of the banking sector.
