Parliament adopted Declaration of 20th anniversary of Kazakhstan's independence
"In the year of the 20th anniversary of Kazakhstan's independence the Senate's leadership came forward with an initiative to adopt the Declaration of the 20th anniversary of independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan. At the opening of the current session President Nursultan Nazarbayev has backed this initiative, naming the Declaration a new important document of consolidation of our society," Chairman of the Committee for Social Cultural development Akhan Bizhanov said.
The Senator noted that the Declaration is a political document which embodies major stages of development of the country.
The Declaration stresses that the course, defined by the Leader of the Nation in the first years of independence, today is known as "Kazakhstan's development path".
Prime Minister Karim Massimov, Secretary of State Kanat Saudabayev, Government members, heads of departments took part in the Senate's session.
