Parliament approves Kyrgyzstan's accession to EEU

BISHKEK. KAZINFORM - The Parliament has ratified today the international agreements on the accession of Kyrgyzstan to the treaty of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) signed on May 29, 2014 in three readings.

96 Members of the Parliament cast the affirmative voices in the third reading, and two were against. The total number of the MPs made 98 at the session. Speaker Asylbek Jeenbekov stressed that today the Parliament had adopted a historical decision, AKI Press. "This decision defines the future of the country. Today's result is to join the EEU protecting the interests of Kyrgyzstan; both the Parliament and the President did a plenty of work," he said. On December 23, 2014, the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council consisting of the heads of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia signed the agreement on Kyrgyzstan's accession to the EEU.
